Alright, I know I post a lot of desserts with strawberries, they are defiantly one of our families favorites! and really any dessert with fruit, is an added bonus, if you know what I’m saying 😉
I made this for a birthday party this past weekend and had a lot of great compliments! It was a hit! 🥳
Strawberries – about 3 lbs
Honey Graham Crackers 1 box – use about 1 1/2 packages
3 Containers of Cool Whip (8 oz container)
Now just layer. Use a 9×13 pan (glass is pretty because it shows the layers nicely) so fancy right?! So the First layer will be cool whip, coat the bottom with a thinner layer. Next lay your graham crackers on top covering the layer of cool whip (use about 7 or 8 crackers). Third, another layer of cool whip, a little thicker than the first layer. Then Graham crackers. Top with Strawberries, then cool whip, then finish with strawberries.
Refrigerate for about 3-4 hours, or overnight. Then serve chilled.
I hope you have a chance to try this summer treat! I will be making this one again! 👍🏻
Hello friends! The weekend is coming up and with warmer weather coming our way (hopefully) it may be BBQ/potluck/summer party or just a hangout with family, friends and neighbors kind of weekend!
Broccoli and Bacon Salad
3 tsp sugar
1/2 cup of mayonnaise
2 tbsp. white vinegar
3-4 cups of Broccoli
I use steamed broccoli I can put in the microwave and then quickly chop it up.
4-5 pieces of cooked bacon
I cook bacon pretty often so I usually have some in the fridge. However, if I don’t I have used bacon bits before too (1/2 cup).
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup of raisins
1/2 cup of red onion (finely chopped)
Mix the sugar, mayo and vinegar, together with a wisk.
In a separate bowl, mix everything else.
Take the sugar mix and pour over the broccoli mixture.
Chill in refrigerator.
Italian Pasta Salad
1 box Tri-Colored Tortini Pasta
1 package cherry tomatoes
1 Orange, 1 Red and 1 Yellow chopped Peppers
1 Bottle of Italian Dressing ( I LOVE and ONLY use Olive Garden’s Italian Dressing)
Mix all together, chill for an hour or 2, and then ready to go!
Velveeta Salsa Dip
1 lb (16 oz) of Velveeta
1 Cup of your favorite Salsa
Cut Velveeta into into cubes and mix with salsa.
Then you can microwave for about 5 minutes or until cheese is melted. At this point I always mix in the crockpot and put on low. Stirring occasionally. once cheese melted I’ll switch to warm and put the whole crockpot out for the party. That way it stays melted and smooth for the next couple hours.
favorite fruit (melons, strawberries, raspberries and grapes work best) Cut into pieces that would fit well on a kabob stick
1 pkg. (8 oz.) Colby & Monterey Jack Cheese, cut into cubes
arrange fruit and cheese on the kabob stick (something the kiddos can help with)
this is an easy recipe that can be modified to your family’s favorite fruit and cheese
Brown Ground Beef. Drain and add the soups. That’s it! I had to share this because it is one of the recipes when I’m struggling with dinner prep, this is a good one! 👌🏻 and it is quick, easy and cheap! 💵 This is one we warm up for leftovers throughout the week. My hubby loves this with tortilla chips too and for me that’s a Gluten free option 👍🏻
Thanks to my mom, who shared this recipe with me ❤️ she knows I need all the help I can get 😉

Hi everyone, just wanted to post this, to ask for some support – our 3 kids go to a Christian school and every year they do a walk-a-thon to raise money to support any school upgrades, field trips and technology upgrades. They have moved away from selling frozen pizzas, wrapping paper, etc and walk for their pledges.
Christian Education is very important to our family and this school has been a HUGE support for our children, in ways I could never imagine!
Could you give a $1 ? or $5? Follow the link below to the page we created and If you could help support, it would be greatly appreciated!
Earth Day is not considered a “religious day” however … why not? Really, when you think about it; isn’t part of our “job” or responsibility, as Christians, as humans, to take care of the Earth that our God created? He created the Earth FOR US! so YES! It is our job to take care of it!
This is GOD’s Earth and he is loaning it us! and don’t we care more for items that aren’t ours?! I mean, I know I do; if I am borrowing my mom’s car, I am so careful with it, extremely careful! This Earth will be our children’s and our children’s children someday, we need to do what we can to care and love it!
You must treat the earth well. It was not given to you by your parents. It is loaned to you by your children.” An African proverb that is a saying of the Kikuyu of Kenya, who have long had a keen sense of their responsibility to care for the earth.
Below are a few ideas to help care for our our planet:
Save the water bottles and buy a reusable water container. It is estimated that more than 60 million plastic bottles end up in landfills and incinerators every day.
Save electricity – turn some lights off or switch to energy efficient light bulbs.
Reusable grocery bags
Don’t waste food – make a meal plan, for breakfast , lunch, dinner and snacks – then stick to it! If you have a plan, you are less likely to waste food; which saves money and less trash. however, if you do throw food away, you can make a compost. Composting means recycling nutrients back into the ecosystem, which keeps food out of landfills and waterways and enriches the soil!
Ride your bike or walk instead of using your car. Is there at least one errand you run this week, that you can bike/walk to? Or take the bus!
Reusable cleaning products – hello NORWEX 😉
seriously though, for just antibacterial counter spray, I would buy at least one bottle at $5 (for easy math) a month. $5 x 12 months equals $60 a year for just 1 bottle of cleaning spray (and this is generous because many household use more). AND THEN the bottle you empty has to be recycled (hopefully) or thrown away. And your wasting! If you use one Norwex cloth, it is half this cost and helps the environment!
Save some Water:
when brushing your teeth or washing hands, turn the facet off.
Don’t run the dishwasher or washing machine until it’s full. Those half-loads add up to gallons and gallons of wasted water.
Install a rain barrel. Can use this water for your garden or lawn.
Maybe skip the daily shower, you can save gallons and gallons of water.
Really there are so many ways to help our planet, its just putting some effort and time into figuring what will work for you! Biking might not work for you or you might not have space for a compost but you could cut down to shower every other day or instead you add a few more dollars to your trash pickup to get a recycling canister. There are ways to help, you just have to do it!
Together if we all can make one change, just one, it will make a difference! Imagine what we can do as a community when we all care…We can make big things a reality! Thanks for reading friends and have a blessed day!
Hello, I know in many areas of the US, it is still cold…however sun protection is still important in the winter and even cloudy days! But hopefully we can start spending more time outside and I am just reminding you to PLEASE PROTECT YOUR SKIN!
All of my education that I am sharing is from Skin Cancer Foundation. To learn more, please check out website at: https://www.skincancer.org/
My father passed away about a year ago to Melanoma, so this topic is close to my heart! And if I can help anyone else from losing a loved one and going through the hurt an sadness of watching a loved one through the cancer battle, I want too! because honestly, CANCER SUCKS!!! And I want to bring awareness to as many people as possible on how important it is to protect! Sadly once the damage is done you can’t go back and fix it. So PROTECT AND PREVENT!
Just yesterday I had a friend from work tell me she was going tanning after work and I was like “you’re kidding right?! don’t you know how bad it is for your skin?” I was angry! she was intentionally damaging her skin and I told her that. However, I know I was guilty of wanting that tan all the time too (in my younger years). But I never knew how bad it was for me! but as long as I try and educate others, I can’t control what they do obviously… I just need to be annoying about it and keep reminding her 😉
So lets start with how to protect and prevent! Because skin damage and cancer can be preventative! Below are some quick, important facts and how to protect yourself! And further down you will see help with choosing the right skin care prevention products.
How to find the right product to care for your skin:
The Skin Cancer Foundation grants its Seal of Recommendation to products that meet the Foundation’s specific criteria for effective UV sun protection. The Seal program covers many categories of sun protection, each with its own specific standards. Sunscreen products may be granted the Daily Use or Active Seal. All other sun protection products may be granted the Traditional Seal. Learn More about the Seal of Recommendation. When you go this website, all products that have met these standards, are listed under “Recommended Products”.
However, if you do find yourself with damaged skin, keep a close eye on any birth marks, moles and brown spots, do a skin check monthly and look for any changes; including the color, size and texture of the area.
If you HAVE any concerns with your skin, please see a healthcare provider! And from experience, I highly suggest going prepared to the appointment with details about your concerns and changes. This will help guide the providers treatment or next step and can speed up your medical care. However, just going to the appointment saying that you see changes in your skin, with no specifics, may not really help move your treatment to the next step in a timely manner, so be prepared! and it could sound something like this “in January I did my skin check and noticed a new mole on my arm. In February, It looked darker. In March, it was darker than it was in February and grew”. I like to take pictures, because I tend to doubt myself and will question “is that really bigger or am just imagining it?” That’s where a picture helps me. But being prepared in any manner, is more effective and efficient for both you and your provider.
These potatoes were a hit with my kiddos, especially my middle! She even said they “almost as good as nana’s” LOL! hey I’ll take that 😉
Start with Peeling the potatoes, we don’t mind a little skin, so having them perfectly peeled isn’t a big deal for our family. However, it is for some, so do as you’d like. Cut into slices (don’t have to be thin), put in pot and cover with water (as much water as it takes to cover them). Set value to seal and cook high pressure for 8-10 minutes. Drain potatoes and return to pot. Then add remaining ingredients and mash ’em up!
6-7 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced
salt and pepper to taste
1 stick of butter ( I like a lot of butter, so I use 1/2 when I mash and the other 1/2 when they were all mashed up, ready to serve and melting into yumminess in the middle)
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup sour cream
water (as much as it takes to fully cover the potatoes in the pot)
This was a really simply, cheap recipe and tasted outstanding! I will defiantly make these again! all in all these took about 20 minutes from start to finish.
Good evening! The sun was shining but I’m seeing that snow again…I am oh so ready for some warm temps, as I am sure many of you are!
I had a friend this winter suggest a new author to me and so I headed to the library, but later that day I knew I wanted this book in my collection! It was inspiring, to say the least! so I ordered from my Amazon Prime and couldn’t receive it fast enough!
If I had to choose 3 words to describe this book, they would be: honest, inspirational, and Funny!
She was so relatable but encouraging at the same time. I needed so much that was in this book-especially working on not comparing myself to others, being the BEST me! God only created one of me so I need to be the best me ❤️ not the best Dawn, Kelly, Candy, etc. etc. etc. but ME! Christy!
It also really made me think about my goals and why/how I can work on achieving them! I don’t know about you but having kids, job, marriage, etc. I kind of lost sight of my goals 😕 so it felt good to focus on me and what I want for a little while 🤔
Here are a few quotes from the book that really hit home for me:
“YOU, and only you, are ultimately responsible for who you become and how happy you are “
“Recognizing the lies we’ve come to accept about ourselves is the key to growing into a better version of ourselves”
“stop allowing your fear of getting it wrong to color every beautiful thing you’re doing right”
One other quick note about this book that I like, I love how she (Rachel Hollis) gives us what worked for her/how she met her goals, at the end of each chapter. it gives a realization and connection because then I really felt, “wow she’s really BEEN THERE!”
So anyways, I highly recommend picking this one up today! And here’s how:
They offer it for the Kindle, Audio, soft and hardcover. The pic below will bring you to the hardcover option for only $13. 29. If you have Prime and order today, you could be reading it by Wednesday night! But seriously, its a good buy!
Have to share this article about the different types of skin cancer, I read a lot of them but found this simple and easy to understand, with some nice pictures (that I always find super helpful 😉) So Please read and consult your provider with ANY concerns.
“Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States, with more cases diagnosed every year than all other cancers combined.”
It’s important, be aware and Take care of yourself!
